 OUR  STORY

How this all came to be...

All of this started when April and Debbie met when their kids attended the same middle school and became INSTANT friends. Within their first interaction, it was as if they had known each other forever! They grew closer through many Bible studies, kids' sports, and getting together for "girl" time.

Sharon and Debbie attended the same church for several years and had "heard of " each other but had never officially met. Debbie was with mutual friends when she got the tragic news of Sharon's son, JM, passing. Eight and a half months later was Debbie's horrible tragedy, losing both her husband, John, and her son, Jake.  Following both of their losses, neither of them wanted to reach out or talk to anyone; they both wanted to be left alone. But, after some time, Sharon felt led to reach out to Debbie, and weirdly, Debbie felt compelled to respond.

From there, they quickly bonded and became each other's rock. They both KNEW they needed to take these horrific tragedies and do something good with them somehow. These ladies came up with the idea to create a podcast and have repeatedly tried to make one on their own over the years, but it never came to fruition. This recent October, there was a profound moment they both experienced individually that ignited the fire once again to start the podcast and make it stick once and for all. When in bible study, Debbie and Sharon mentioned to their good friend April that they were trying to start up podcasting and asked if she would like to be the host. April was open and ecstatic to the idea, as she had experienced a loss of her own and knew the perfect person to help make their dreams come to life.  Her daughter Maggie just freshly graduated college with a degree in media and all sorts of other creative skills. With all four of them, they were able to come together and make the What's Good About Grief Podcast possible for everyone to hear! So here we are, we all hope and pray that through our tribulations and blessings, we can help others find the hope and healing they need.

Our
Purpose

Why We Do What We Do

This Podcast is to help others who are currently, previously, or know someone who is grieving. Going through grief can feel isolating at times, and we want people to understand they are not alone. Grief is difficult, you may want to give up, but "it is okay to not be okay. What's not okay is not to continue fighting". We strongly believe in this statement and want to encourage individuals to keep pushing through their own battles.

"The world has no greater need than a good story"
